  17.      _x_f_s_d_u_m_p maintains an online dump inventory in /_v_a_r/_x_f_s_d_u_m_p/_i_n_v_e_n_t_o_r_y.
  18.      The ----IIII option of xfsdump displays the inventory contents hierarchically.
  19.      The levels of the hierarchy are:  filesystem, dump session, stream, and
  20.      media file.

  22.      Over time, this database may grow too large as xfsdump and xfsrestore do
  23.      not remove entries from the inventory. The database may also develop
  24.      inconsistencies due to various reasons such as operator errors etc.,
  25.      causing xfsdump or xfsrestore to print error or warning messages.

  27.      _x_f_s_i_n_v_u_t_i_l is an utility to check this inventory database for consistency
  28.      and to remove entries of dump sessions which may no longer be of
  29.      relevance.

  31.      The following command line options are available:

  33.      ----MMMM _m_o_u_n_t_p_o_i_n_t _m_m/_d_d/_y_y_y_y
  34.           Specifies the mount point and cut-off date of inventory entries to
  35.           be selected for pruning.  xfsinvutil prompts the operator when a
  36.           dump session in the inventory is identified by the mount point and
  37.           was created prior to the specified date.  The operator can then
  38.           select specific dump sessions for removal from the inventory
  39.           database.  _x_f_s_i_n_v_u_t_i_l also performs consistency checks on other
  40.           inventory database entries when invoked with this option.

  42.      ----CCCC   With this option, _x_f_s_i_n_v_u_t_i_l performs consistency checks for all
  43.           entries in the inventory database.  It fixes any problems found. If
  44.           no consistent entries are found , the corresponding inventory
  45.           database file is removed.

  49.      Each dump session updates an inventory database in
  50.      /_v_a_r/_x_f_s_d_u_m_p/_i_n_v_e_n_t_o_r_y.  _x_f_s_d_u_m_p uses the inventory to determine the base
  51.      of incremental and resumed dumps.

  53.      This database can be displayed by invoking _x_f_s_d_u_m_p with the ----IIII option.
  54.      The display uses tabbed indentation to present the inventory
  55.      hierarchically.  The first level is filesystem.  The second level is
  56.      session.  The third level is media stream (currently only one stream is
  57.      supported).  The fourth level lists the media files sequentially
  58.      composing the stream.
